Woke up, fell outta bed, dragged a comb across my head….oh, sorry, some reason the Beatles have been going through my head the last couple days. Back to reality.
Thought I would take a look at Yahoo Search today, and see where the ‘pulse of the Nation’ is. This is what I found. Not really exciting stuff, but it did provide for a somewhat hurried, and illogical post. Damn it Jim, I’m a Yahoo Search Bot, not a Valcun!
1. Jeff Bridges
Recently winning a Golden Globe Award as Best Actor for his performance in Crazy Heart. I haven’t seen Crazy Heart yet, but I have seen many of Jeff’s movies to include Tron, Starman, and The Big Lebowski. All I gotta say is Jeff Bridges is one cool muther of an actor and CONGRATS Jeff, cuz I know you lurk my site.
2. Martin Luther King Jr.
One of only four Federal holidays that observes an individual, taking place the third Monday of January, around the time of King’s birthday, January 15. A civil rights leader, Mr. King is probably best known for his “I Have A Dream” speech, and his belief in bringing about change through non-violent means.
Did you know that Japan also celebrates this day? No, I’m not making it up either.
3. Katee Sackhoff
Katee is definitely “badassery”! Playing Starbuck in the updated version of Battlestar Gallactica, she smoked cigars, played poker, piloted a space fighter, stared in many of my fantasies, and could hold her own when duking it out…Oh yea, she’s also smokin’ hot!
And Because I know Katee lurks here also, I’m including her link.
Link to the official site of Katee Sackhoff
4. Brett Favre
The Minnesota Vikings handed the Dallas Cowboys a playoff spanking with the final score of 34-3. Even though I was rooting for the Cowboys, (of course), I still think Brett is one of the best ever.
What disturbs me is the fact that some Cowboys seem to be whining about the game like little girlie men. If their feelings are hurt that Brett threw a touchdown pass with less than 2 minutes remaining, they should have STOPPED him.
‘Nough said!
5. Wyclef Jean
Wyclef has not only been able to raise over 2 million dollars for the Haiti relief efforts through his charitable foundation Yele Haiti, he has also been helping relief efforts by searching and rescuing those that had been trapped under the ruble.
Haitian born, Wyclef is a multi-platinum performer and producer, and his uncle is the Haitian ambassador to the United Sates. Recently The Smoking Gun has published documents that suggest Wyclef received money from his foundation, for his personal benefit. I say RUBBISH… and thank you Mr. Jean for your humanitarian efforts.
If you would like to donate $5.00 to the Haitian earthquake relief, text Yele to 501501.
6. Benadryl
A massive recall of more than 53 million of its over-the-counter medications including Tylenol, Benadryl, and Motrin has been issued by Johnson and Johnson. Can you say WTF?!?
Apparently there have been complaints of unusual smells in some of the packaging, resulting in a small number of cases of nausea, stomach pain, and vomiting. Nobody has been seriously injured, and the symptoms have been going away on their own.
These are the exact symptoms I experienced during the Dallas/Minnesota game.
Instructions or information regarding how to return or dispose of the product, consumers should log on to the internet at www.mcneilproductrecall.com or call 1-888-222-6036 (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern Time, and Saturday-Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time).
7. Blackwater
I actually have friends employed by Blackwater…’nough said.
8. Bob Hope Classic
Don’t watch or play golf, sorry…wait a minute, no I’m not!
9. Newbery Medal
Named after John Newbery, an eighteenth-century British bookseller, The Newbery is Awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children. The award is presented to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children.
The latest to win the Newbery Medal is Rebecca Stead for her second novel, When You Reach Me, a pre-teen tale.
That’s all I care to know about the Newbery Medal.
10. Michael C. Hall
Michael Hall is absolutely awesome in Dexter! This is one of my favorite shows of all time, and I gotta say I kinda liked him in Six Feet Under, but he is kick ass badassery in Dexter. If he and Katee Sackhoff had a baby, it would more than likely be The Urban Cowboy.
He recently won a Golden Globe Award for his performance as Dexter. Unfortunately, one of my favorite actors is now battling cancer…good luck to ya Michael, cuz I know yer a lurker too!
There ya have it, my take on Yahoo Web Search.
What’s on your mind? Let us know!

I am so tired of everyone whining about that last touchdown. It’s just like you said. If you don’t want them to score, stop them. Obviously, their defense decided to stay home yesterday.

Okay, when I click on comment, the screen fades to a gray. It’s letting me type, but I’m kinda blind here.

Barefoot Dreaming ~ Welcome, and I’ll return the favor!
Awesome factoid on MLK…had no idea the Chinese were such huge fans too. Um as for the football….leaving that TOTALLY alone. (Insert snarky, lol) I didn’t know the Tylenol, Benadryl, etc did not have a funky smell before. I love Michael C. Hall in Dexter…but I was a DIE HARD Six Feet Under fan before so I am more than biased.
–>I won’t hold the Cowboys fan thing against you as a Redskins fan. (I was born in DC.) I’m pulling for Brett Farve now because well, he’s cute and why not?
Blackwater is just down the street from here and my husband almost took a job there. They have a new name now Xc or something weird with a X.
Good list. Have you ever just typed in “Why” in a google search to see what comes up as suggestions? WEIRD ones.

I missed the Golden Globes. Did not know about Tylenol but I’m mostly an Advil or Excedrin taker. I have a cousin who is a helicopter pilot. He works for a company that might be contracting with Blackwater soon. Searched their videos on Youtube. Kinda of a trippy group.
