Lady Bera’s birthright afforded her desires in all things worldly. Under strict tutelage during her younger years, Bera’s knowledge of navigation, war tactics, family song, and etiquette were said to be second only to her beauty.
Like the many warriors that were forever lost in uncharted oceans, so could a man find his passion unable to escape its hunger for Lady Bera. Eyes of the stars, hair sewn from golden strands, with a breath from her lips the wrath of gods could be invoked.
Bera’s beauty would prove to be both her blessing and her curse.

Lady Bera gave herself not to a man, but Bjorn, for she now bears the mark
Mesmerized at her sight, suitors of every age and position courted Lady Bera, for possession of her rivaled that of a kingdom. Warriors and Kings alike had tried their hand at dominion over Bera, yet none would succeed. Lady Bera’s beauty would afford position of her choosing, yet she would remain true to her heart. Lady Bera gave herself not to a man, but Bjorn, for she now bears the mark.
Beautiful as she was, a foreboding emptiness would follow Lady Bera.
As Bjorn donned his skins, his hands trembled. His tongue ached with the hunger of a beast.
“I must quench my thirst, my hunger. Curse be to Odin.”
Bjorn, is barely audible as he motions Bera for his sword and his skin of bjórr (a very sweet and strong alcoholic drink).
“The night is almost past, and there is much ground we must cover before day light. We must make haste before our presence is discovered.”
Bera replies as she tosses the drink and moves towards Bjorn with his sword in hand.
Come, we now ride!
Bjorn remarks after a long drink of his favorite alcohol, now mounting the horse and motioning for Bera to join him.
“To provide you a son is all I desire.”
Bera whispers as she bites his ear, wrapping her arms across his lap.
“You will…but to avenge your father…my King…that is my fate for now.”
Bjorn would rather travel by longship, but this journey must be made by horse. As the two hunt, they have become the hunted as well.

I’ve never drunk the “skin of bjórr” but by golly I’d like to. Haven’t seen it round here though, I may have to order a crate online.
