In the first season of the Spartacus Blood and Sand series by Starz, I find myself watching each episode multiple times. Thank you technology for the dvr! Being a huge fan of Rome, it makes sense that I can’t seem to get enough of Spartacus.
Never mind for a second that Spartacus is an orgy of sex, violence and swearing (must be a guy thing). There is also badassery, tunic only wearing, gladiatorial body built men running around sweating and stuff (must be a gal thing).
I find I cannot watch it too much, I mean this show is really entertaining…and the way the blood splatters reminds me of the Kill Bill movies (very cool).

I just watched the season one finale of Spartacus Blood and Sand and I gotta tell you it was definitely a little over the top. But man, I just had to watch it again! For those of you that aren’t familiar with the Spartacus show, the rest of this post will just sound like, well, jiberish…but than again, it might compel you to check it out. Believe me, that would be preferable to me giving a blow by blow history of each episode.
The Gladiators Revolt against the House of Batiatus
I was really shocked that Batiatus finally received his just due, a slice to the neck. This character played by John Hannah brought a whole new definition to the power hungry, deceitful, and ruthless “bad guy”. I’m going to miss him, he was awesome!
While there is no doubt his character is gone for good, I couldn’t tell whether Lucy Lawless’ character Lucretia (the wife of Batiatus) survived after having her womb skewered by Crixus (her forced slave lover). I think she’s a goner, but you never know. I guess we’ll find out in season two.
LUCRETIA & ILITHYIA Played by Lucy Lawless & Viva Bianca

It was pretty funny the way Ilithyia got her revenge on the House of Batiatus. Ilithyia, played by Viva Bianca is another cunning little cat, and damn sexy in some of her scenes! Having enough of Lucretia’s demeaning, extortionist attitude, she got the last laugh…so to speak.
No doubt that Ashur, a weasel squared, lived through the slaves revolt, even if he had to hide under dead bodies to keep from being beheaded by Doctore. I think this is the only thing that i didn’t like, man, I wanted him to get the ax…which is what he deserved.
It was also a surprise to see Varro’s wife exact revenge for the death of her husband by the hands of Spartacus (his best buddy by the way) by order of a pubescent teenager Roman spoiled brat.
CRIXUS Played by Manu Bennett

But the biggest surprise of all was the fact that CRIXUS, played by Manu Bennett joined forces with Spartacus, which made the gladiators revolt possible.
Is there any other Spartacus fans? If so, lets hear it!

I’ll take your word for it that it’s entertaining. Not really my kind of thing. I’ve always been more of a mush or mystery kind of person

Not on our tv yet but don’t think they’ll ever get through the censorship board.

Yea, I guess this isn’t a show that appeals to many women.
