Welcome to The Urban Cowboy’s Monday Mavericks! Every Monday, I welcome a guest to post whatever they like, right here, for your enjoyment. First will be a brief Q&A, followed by their post.
This Monday’s Maverick, I bring to you Sara of Domestically Challenged.
How long have you been actively blogging?
A bit over 2 years now. It might be longer, because I kind of blogged in my head for a bit, but you know, actively for 2 years.
Why did you start blogging?
I honestly don’t remember! I had just started reading others blogs and thought it would be fun to try!
If you could do one thing, right now, regardless of cost or repercussions of any kind, what would it be?
I really want to do an out of country marathon. Somewhere like Italy.
Do you like cowboys? Why or why not?
Why wouldn’t one love a cowboy? All that, you know, cowboy stuff they do. Pretty intense.
What is the ultimate goal you wish to achieve through blogging?
Exactly what is has been. The ultimate opportunity to meet the people I have and develop the friendships we have. That is the most amazing part of it all.
Which ONE word do you feel best describes you?
Spazzy
Which ONE word do you think KNOW your friends would use to best describe you
Veryspazzy
What is your favorite food?
Peanut butter. Donuts. Bread.
What is your favorite drink?
Dt. Mountain Dew
What is one of your favorite blogs to visit, that isn’t The Urban Cowboy, and why?
Let me think… I love Cake Wrecks. Anytime I am having a bad day, that cheers me up and makes me giggle.
Meet Sara @Domestically Challenged
About me? When I saw that Mr. Urban Cowboy here wanted to know that, I was all, “Hmm…what about me? What am I?”
You know, you want something super profound to describe yourself, like…I have invented a hovercraft that runs on vegetables and goes 90 MPH.
Nada. I am a mother of two (wild) wonderful boys, a wife, a teacher (4th grade) runner and slight spaz. {my friend read this over and said to add that I am paranoid, but I am not AT ALL. My fear of ax murderers, bears, skunks, ghosts, peanut butter shortages, bats, axes and those who wield them, running at night, people who use axes as weapons of choice, and a fewother things are quite real and justified. Duh.}
I’m always on the move… one friend often remarks that trying to get ahold of me is like trying to nail jello to the wall. {whatever, who would nail jello to the wall? Sort of an odd wall decoration.}
My students might say I am a touch spastic. I love to have fun and can often be found on my desk, throwing things across the room for experiments and playing practical jokes on other teachers.
I love to run. I may not be fast, and *may* resemble a waddling penguin, but I love it nonetheless. Through training for marathons, I’ve come to realize that running is a great way to test my limits in all areas of my life. When you push yourself in one area, it naturally moves to the other areas of your life.
To ask me? I will tell you that I am a woman who is growing and changing each day. I have learned more about myself, my strength, tenacity and capabilities over the last 6 months than during any part of my life. I am becoming more confident each day and can’t wait to see what the future holds. (you know, unless it is something bad, like an ax murderer, then I’ll skip it.)
Tell us who you are!

These interviews are great fun for me. What a good idea you had when you came up with this.
Glad to hear you enjoy my Monday Mavericks…and everyone is welcome to participate.
I agree with christina, these are fun. Sara, I have to say I think there might be a little spaz in all of us. Some just happen to show it more than others
Very true! I just show mine more!!
Hi ya ann, glad you enjoy these as well!
An Italy-Marathon — LOVE it!!
Happy Labor Day Cowboy
I’ll stick to watching the marathon with a cold one in my hand.
Happy Labor Day back at ya!
When you’re teaching 4th grade, being a little spazzy is a matter of survival!
Very true! I hadn’t thought of it that way!
Hi ya, Mama Zen!
I like these bits too, Cowboy. They are great fun.
And to Sara, I’ll pass along something my son reminds me of now and again: Just because I am paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get me.
I’m just saying.
Hi Patti, my Monday Mavericks is open to anyone, too! They’re all out to get us.
i’m just sayin…
I think you sound like an awesome person! Sounds to me like you love teaching and that is so cool to me…I am studying to be a teacher and you can always tell the people who want to do it for summers off and those who really love kids…
You’re all awesome! I used to teach for the military…does that count?
That totally counts!
I also have a short list of read-only sites that I go to just for the giggles (poorly dressed people, failbook, my very worst date).
Off to check out your interviewee.
Hi ya, secret agent woman…I follow quite a few sites, only because I’m still trying to find out who you are?
I doubt very seriously that you are really domestically challenged…kinda like me being a redneck!
Good post, and TUC is a genius for coming UP with this idea…
UP
oh, just ask anybody who knows me!!
Howdy UP! It’s about time somebody else thought I was a genius.
Looking forward to your guest post next Monday, too!
Nice to meet you Domestically Challenged. Great post!
Same to you!!
Hi Siren, good to see ya here!
A great interview and I’m laughing at Sara’s paranoia. No, that’s not true – I’m laughing “with” you, Sara, not “at” you because I have a few of my own (though thankfully none involve axes)! Thanks, Sara, and Urban Cowboy!
Not so much paranoia as…safety..right!?!
Hi Talon, and you’re welcome. So you’re not paranoid of ax wielding cowboys?
Sara – exactly!
Urban Cowboy, eek! I haven’t come across THOSE type of cowboys before! If I do, yes, I’ll be a wee bit scared!
HEHE…I love Dt Mt Dew too…crazy! Have a great day ya’ll! =)
Nice to meet you Sara. Is fear of no Peanut Butter a phobia? Would it be called something like NoPBaphobic?
Have a great week. Am out till next Monday. Will be at the State of MS Horse Show. The big one that I worked all year for!
Ramona
Sara – Great post! If I were in a classroom with 31 children all day, then came home to 2 more at night, I’d be spazzy, too. LOL! It’s a job requirement for moms, anyway, isn’t it? When we get to meet IRL, I’ll be sure not to carry an axe.
Really liking the Monday Maverick.
You sound delightful. I wish I loved running. I do it because I need to do something to counteract my eating habits… but I’ve never learned to love it!
I think that is all sorts of awesome that you are a teacher!
Great post!
Shelle!
Love your blog btw.
Try swimming if you don’t love to run. My body just objects to running (although I totally LOVE elliptical machines). I share your philosophy about food and exercise. We can eat whatever we want as long as we burn it off!
Do you like chocolate?
Citymom
–>I only run if it’s last call for alcohol.

It is great to meet you Sara. I am headed over to check out your blog. I love the name. I am pretty certain I have heard of your blog before — I might have started following your blog recently. If you are domestically challenged, then I am memory challenged! (I definitely know WebSavvyMom!)
I do love this idea, TUC!
I am definitely memory challenged! WebSavvyMom, I am following One Savvy Mom (and now you, as well). And Sara, I have checked out your blog before but was not following you but I am now! I will get all of your feeds now and I am looking forward to reading your future and back posts.
I do love these Monday Mavericks (especially spazzy ones, as I identify!) but don’t know if I could have the guts to participate – for some reason posting on other people’s blogs makes me crazy nervous!
Thanks everyone for your participation in my Monday Mavericks! I have been out of the loop lately, as my girlfriend and I have taken some time to work on our relationship.
Next week should be a good one, with another awesome Monday Maverick, AND The Urban Cowboy will be testing his girlfriends pepper spray…as in getting it in the face, and will be posting the results for all you.
Have an awesome weekend, and see ya’ll next week!
A BIG thanks out to Sara @Domestically Challenged for her guest post!
BTW…the pepper spray test will be to test the effectiveness for her protection.
hey cowboy…where you been?
another great interview and great to meet sarah as well…
