Oh, I think we can be pretty sure they don’t care.

Maybe that they are losing money!

Yep that one went south alright, WAY south

Unfortunately, there seems to be no end in sight.

Ocean Girl June 27, 2010 at 4:27 pm

Now who did they sacrifice this this time sending him into the pollutant without protective cover?? I guess they really do not have a proper safety procedure in place. Could be because they really don’t care.

Have no idea if this is a BP employee or not, really.

Unknown Mami June 27, 2010 at 7:04 pm

Are you sure that’s not a Hollywood stunt dummy?

The Urban Cowboy June 28, 2010 at 11:31 am

Could be, you’d have to be a dummy to jump in like that.

I would rather see them cleaning the oil up …its so sad what BP has done to the wild life and the lifes of all the fisherman….

Oh they have a whole area on their website dedicated to informing the public on their cleanup, with an area for people to make claims against them for loss of income because of this.

Jessica @ One Shiny Star June 27, 2010 at 8:28 pm

Have you seen this website?

http://www.ifitwasmyhome.com/

It shows the oil spill where it is, and then it moves it to cover where you live. It is a pretty harrowing picture.

I’ve also moved around a lot, since my Dad was in the military. I just had my heart staying here, and I thought my husband was with me, and turns out we were on different pages. Life is full of compromises, and I know it will be fine. Just a bummer when plans have to change. :)

OMG…that link really puts into dramatic perspective! Thanks for sharing.

I know what you mean about plans changing, I have been through quite a few myself. I just keep on keepin on! :)

Yea, right…I know what you mean. Some of the stuff I’ve seen in the media regarding this was almost comedic.

TechnoBabe June 28, 2010 at 5:24 am

If they cared so much they would have had the most secure and stringent safety measures in place and they would not have pushed the whole works to the max so they could get more oil to make so much more money. I wonder if the whole truth will ever even be revealed about what actually happened to cause the leak. This is a disaster of major proportions and we are not hearing much about it anymore because the people who worked the rigs and pipes have not been able to stop it.

Reply

The Urban Cowboy June 28, 2010 at 5:34 pm

Hi TechnoBabe, you are right on all your points. I think eventually, the truth will have to come out (I hope). It’s just sickening how big corporations seem to get away with anything, everybody seems to be in bed with everybody else for one reason and on only, $$$.

Natalie June 28, 2010 at 6:10 am

It just keeps getting more grim and depressing everyday…

Reply

The Urban Cowboy June 28, 2010 at 11:41 am

I know, especially when their attempts to stop the leak seem so idiotic when compared to their technology to start one.

UP June 28, 2010 at 6:15 am

If the automakers would get out of bed with the vermin of OPEC and the oil industry, they could make cars that run on just about anything else.

The spill is just another example of environmentalist hypocrisy: please don’t run me over while driving your Hummer as you leave the grocery store with your eco-friendly grocery bags!

As to the clean UP, the oceans are earth’s washing machine, the oil is gonna go where it wants to!

Plug it and move on!!

I think you hit the nail on the head about auto manufacturers and oil tycoons!

It’s just like pharmaceuticals and certain incurable diseases.

Raven June 28, 2010 at 6:23 am

This whole situation is depressing and makes me so furious. The damage that is being done to our planet, and the pain of those whose livelihoods are suffering because of this spill is inestimable. BP doesn’t give a flying rat’s a**, they are just trying to cover their own.

Reply

The Urban Cowboy June 28, 2010 at 11:44 am

Absolutely, they are doing whatever they can to minimize public and governmental outrage.

Ramona June 28, 2010 at 6:33 am

BP is made up of total nimrods……..

Our MS gulf coast is receiving their gift now. So sad its sickening.

Reply

The Urban Cowboy June 28, 2010 at 11:46 am

Unfortunately, this gift seems to keep on giving.

Donna June 28, 2010 at 7:14 am

I’d like that CEO guy to have to swim in the thick of that crap in the ocean. See how much he likes it.

Reply

The Urban Cowboy June 28, 2010 at 11:47 am

Wouldn’t that be a sight!

Donna (Texas) June 28, 2010 at 8:25 am

This is heartbreaking….Maybe if we moved the White House to the Gulf Coast, Obama would Move his A** and get going on the cleanup!

Redshoes51 June 28, 2010 at 12:12 pm

Dayum, if that doesn’t look like ol’ Kevin Costner’s topknot there? LOL

Seriously, we’ve a mess down here. BP just announced that they’ve got a well started within 20′ of the rupture, but that they are still over 900 feet away… which doesn’t sound that far. But, even when the mess stops flowing, the damage is done. The millions and millions of gallons of crude that is in the water will take a long time to cleanse.

I wish our President would allow the Dutch skimmers… and the other skimmers of foreign countries to come in and assist… they have offered.

*sighs*

Ha…Kevin Costner…you are so right about that.

The link http://www.ifitwasmyhome.com/ left by Jessica @ One Shiny Star really puts the amount of crude that has been released into the ocean into sobering perspective.

Mama Zen June 28, 2010 at 2:10 pm

Yeah, the quality of their PR is surpassed only by their fine safety record!

Which killed 11 workers during the initial explosion on the Deepwater Horizon, so sad.

The Wall Street Journal reported that BP argued against stricter safety regulations for the oil industry in letters to the Minerals Management Service last year. BP joined several other oil producers to say that the current voluntary safety rules were sufficient.

BP’s Vice President for Gulf of Mexico Production wrote:

“We believe the industry’s current safety and environmental statistics demonstrate that the voluntary programs..have been and continue to be very successful.”

sara@domesticallychallenged June 28, 2010 at 2:36 pm

Are these people serious??? This whole thing is just so depressing and so foolish that it could happen in the first place!

Have a great 4th of July.
