Haiku Times Too

by The Urban Cowboy on August 5, 2010 · 50 comments

Following my virtual bon fire, I realized there were some words I wanted to save. One you may have seen before, the other not, both were inspired by my dear friend Space Cowgirl or Wild Rose. Be sure to check out Space Cowgirl if you like awesome poetry, she rocks it! Maybe I should change my name to The Cowboy Poet? On second thought, naw…enjoy!

Wild Rose

Scarlet Heart

Scarlet heart flowing,

her soul reflected in mine,

beauty passion traced.

Passion Traced

False Love

False Love

Tears of red flowing,

a dream never realized,

memories reaching.

Memories Reaching

Wishing you happiness and joy always, Galaxyhera…and thank you. :)

Another great one. Have I told you that you need to compile all of your short stories into a novel?? If not, consider it done…and…you can put your Haiku’s in there also… Just sayin’! ;)

Yes, Space Cowgirl knows how to paint a picture of emotions through her words for sure. That’s what I need right now, to be in front of a campfire deep in the woods!

Siren August 5, 2010 at 8:19 am

Excellent, just what i needed… it has been a rough morning.

Sorry your morning was a rough one, hopefully your evening will make up for it times too! {two handed kiss}

TechnoBabe August 5, 2010 at 7:20 am

Showing more of your talent in the haikus. Personally I like Wild Rose as it is true compared to the other which is false.

Thank you very much TechnoBabe. {kissing hand} :)

Excellent as always, my friend. Fate giveth, and Fate taketh away, only in this case, Fate seems to have giveth again. She’s good like that.

The Urban Cowboy August 5, 2010 at 3:03 pm

Yep, Patti…but fate can be a bitch sometimes! :)

The Urban Cowboy August 5, 2010 at 3:04 pm

She does, however, seem to always make up for it in the long run.

Natalie August 5, 2010 at 9:09 am

Beautiful words that touched my heart…and I adore Patti’s comment :)

Hi Ramona, those are my first two attempts…maybe I will be inspired to write more, and thank you.

What do i say to such a soul as yours my dear Urban Cowboy? You bring such tenderness into me and your lovely notes are like symphony to my ears and a delightful treat to my eyes. Thank you again from deep down, you humble me.
To you from my heart :)

Urban Cowboy, one sweet man rises,
immaculate friendship spreads,
a dream nearer to me.

Lots of Love~

Space Cowgirl…this is a wonderful first for me…I would feel honored if you would allow me to use those lines in my about page. :)

Talon August 5, 2010 at 1:02 pm

Wild Rose should rename herself Sweetheart Rose, because she’s a truly sweet woman and someone I consider a friend. Her poetry is so sensual and beautiful and definitely inspiring.

The haiku was lovely, Urban Cowboy. Who says real men can’t eat quiche and cowboys can’t write awesome haiku? ;)

“beauty passion traced” – that packs a lot in so few words.

And I hope the False Love becomes a very distant memory…eventually becoming nothing more than a memory of a bad dream.

The Urban Cowboy August 5, 2010 at 3:30 pm

Thank you Talon for your kindness, and yes…False Love is just that, a memory.

Thank you for sharing that, it is your words from this that describe what I think best…”She enters your psyche, taking over your mind…”

Talon August 5, 2010 at 1:11 pm

I crafted a comment, hit submit and I think it vaporized (or it’s scampering about the internet, giggling!).

Wild Rose should rename herself Sweetheart Rose, because she’s a lovely lady and a fantastic poet. Her poetry is sensual and soft and definitely inspirational.

The last line in Wild Rose is awesome – so much in so few words.

Who says real men can’t eat quiche and cowboys can’t write beautiful haiku? ;)

I enjoyed False Love, but I can’t wait until you write one entitled True Love – because you deserve that.

The Urban Cowboy August 5, 2010 at 3:35 pm

Ah, one about True Love…I think you may have just inspired my next and third haiku!

A little wave of old grief in the second?

The Urban Cowboy August 5, 2010 at 3:41 pm

Yes, that was written a couple weeks ago. It no longer pertains to me, but I did want to save it.

Debby August 5, 2010 at 1:31 pm

Very interesting. I had to look up the word Haiku because I had never heard of it. You did a great job.
