This is a Haiku Heights entry for the prompt: Festival
Haiku Heights is a place for weekly Haiku prompts. Each Sunday, a word is given as the theme for the week’s haiku.
Hope you all enjoy as I indulge a little in the art of haiku.
Seductive allure,
ravenous thirst anointed,
courtship festival.
What is it you thirst for? Let us know!

Coffee elixir
Consciousness in a big cup
Sweet wake up coffee
How’s that?
Awesome! I’m enjoying a cup of the good stuff right now!
Nice haiku. You really are good with haiku. And your picture adds to the theme of the haiku.
Why thank you Techno…{kissing hand}
Love this!!
Right on!
Sips of sun, birdsong
No more gulps of rainy skies
That’s what I thirst for
Yours is ever so much more uplifting. Haiku about the weather is a bit gloomy (not to mention grammatically incorrect), I admit. but after three days of rain, I’m drowning here. When will this rain end?
Hi ya Patti! I think yours is uplifting as well as it speaks of sun and birds singing. Very nice, indeed.
You did another great Haiku. You used the theme word well.
You definately have a knack for it.
Awe shucks, thank you kindly Ramona, and how is my favorite redneck doing this fine morning? Busy, I bet!
Wine…a nice bottle of malbec….and silence….no kids screaming or dogs fighting….and peace…no Mormon knocking on the door when the Inn is closed for the summer….
Sadly, I would only be able to help with the wine…
Here’s to you quenching your thirst, Ninja!
I like the courtship festival! Do people even court these days? I hope so – that’s the best part of a new relationship.
I’m not thirsting for anything just now…so I guess I’m temporarily replete.
Hi Talon, you are absolutely right…courtship seems to have taken a back seat nowadays…but not for a cowboy. Nothing beats it.
Well Cowboy,
must’ve been some fun times up in those mountains!
I looked up all the big words, whew (blotting face with hankie).
now sure I can read these at work anymore (blush).
cmom
Hi ya CityMom! I think it’s safe to say you had no problem with the words…after all you are a City Mom, right? BTW, I just love it when a woman blushes.
adventure…
Loved this one…love this series.

Hi ya Alex, adventure covers a pretty large spectrum…care to share more details?
Love your yummy love…cowboy kisses back at ya!
What is with you and seduction and desire lately! Goodness. Someone needs to call their pimp friend and get taken care of… just sayin
Great writing as always.
Good to see you too Shelle, and thank you kindly for your concern!
Oh yeah my Haiku Cowboy has done it again…love the seductive allure my dear
And @Shelle yeah we got keep his head above the clouds…Cowboy’s
Hi ya! Glad you liked it…but what’s up with the clouds and my head?
nice. you create quite the atmosphere in so few words…that is a moment of great anticipation…
Thanks brian, and it most definitely is.
I love haikus. I think they should be the only poetry allowed.
Except for all the other good poetry. Lordy, I’m indecisive today.
Yea, me too!
Well, Redneck Latte of course!
And, I think you’re in love again.
UP
Hey there UP…latte is good, being redneck even better. As far as love goes…naw, just feeling like my normal self again.
Hey UP,
”
I had the same vibe from TUC.
I predict he’ll respond, “cowboys don’t kiss & tell
C-mom
You have that correct, CityMom…cowboys are gentlemen when it comes to their women.
However, this cowboy is single, no new love to speak of…still looking for that one.
What am I thirsting for…I am going to take this in a way that is not meant literally thirsty and say I am thirsting for my degree….It is so close but yet so far….
Hi christie! I know you have been pursuing this for a while…and it is just right around the corner! When you finally reach the end, your thirst will be quenched until your next goal!
When you do reach this, I will definitely raise a virtual…(demographically challenged) glass for a toast with ya!
Urban Cowboy Shelle says your head is in the clouds and she has made it her responsibility to keep it out of there and i said okay will help in whatever way i can of course i know where your head is haha…somewhere am not telling
Space Cowgirl~
{head hung low} I thought we were friends?
Thank you both, for watching out for me.
Dammit Cowboy keep that head up high where i like it, we’re friends for eternity if ya’ wonna call it that always
{head up high}Better?
HEY! Wait… back up… where IS his head girl???
No speaking morse code.
If it isn’t in the clouds… then where might it be?
Be nice…today my head is somewhere dark, and it isn’t the clouds, or where you might wish it to be.
No haiku in me tonight, but a nice glass of dry, earthy red wine is always welcome. A spicy zin-syrah blend I had recently, perhaps.
Sounds wonderful, secret agent.
Hmmm…. inner peace, with a side of that courtship!! When your married this long with young kids it’s easy to forget
Loved reading the comments on this one!
Yes, responsibilities often take center stage…but with any strong and real relationship, these words remain true.
I can’t write haikus to save my life.
I bet you could, your stories are awesome!
I really like your haikus!
Now that’s saying something, because I normally roll my eyes when I come across a haiku.
Sssshhh.. don’t tell anyone
I’m thirsting for some chocolate.
Right on, that’s my fourth haiku, Donut Girl.
Your awesome at it!
Thank you kindly Debby.
Still love this one…and if you ever jump on your trusty steed and mosey on out this direction I’ll take you for your first steamed pork bun…
Lots of yummy love,

Nice entry!! You’re definitely a natural at this writing thing. Me.. not so much
Thank you, Tammy…you should write a haiku on chickens!
Oh, I LOVE this one! Fabulous. I feel like I should write this in lipstick on my bathroom mirror so I can see it every morning.
In related news, perhaps I have some psychotic tendencies.
Really, writing it in lipstick?
I can’t believe I’m going to click “submit” right now.
Delightful haiku, Cowboy. *Swoon*
Ha, Gucci…lipstick is cool, just make sure it’s RED!
Have a good weekend!
Mixed bag, this weekend.
Well, you certainly make me wish I was better at poetry! talented, my friend.
Thank you kindly, sara…give it a try, ya never know!
Wonderful Haiku! It truly bleeds the passion that I thirst for. Or maybe that’s the glass of wine I’m using to quench my thirst that is speaking.
Hi Teresa, wine is always a good thing…right?
