The electronic cigarette kits are relatively new to The Urban Cowboy. As I am in the process of quitting smoking, the e cigarettes have transformed from a mere curiosity…to a must have. I used to scoff at the idea of puffing on an electronic cigarette, even to others that have suggested it.
Luckily, I came across a vendor of the smoking everywhere brand e cigaretts one day and was presented with the information needed to at least give these a trial run.
After getting a quick run down on how the electronic cigarettes operate, and a few testimonials from others at the smoking everywhere booth that had been using it for a while I decided to purchase the smoking everywhere e cigarette starter kit, Gold One Edition.
Smoking everywhere Gold One Edition starter kit.

Included in the e cigarette kit was a battery, charger, atomizer, and 10 nicotine cartridges.
This is the battery from electronic cigarette kit.

I was initially told that the e cigarette battery would retain a full days charge. However, after using the smoking everywhere kit, I have concluded that it in fact does not. On more than one occasion, I was left with a dead battery in the evening…when I needed it most. It seemed that while climbing a few blue mountains in the evening, I had to resort to bumming a real cigarette. If you decide to go the e cigarette route, I advise you pick up a spare battery to keep from my predicament. The tip of the battery glows red with each puff, and will begin to blink to indicate the battery is low on charge.
This is the atomizer from the electronic cigarette kit.

The atomizer is the component that produces the “fake” smoke for the cigarette. This smoke is actually a fine mist that is characteristic of “real” smoke found in cigarettes. The smoking everywhere brand comes with one, while there are other brands that are incorporated in the nicotine cartridges…hence they are replaced when you replace the nicotine cartridge. I do not know which is better, as I have only used the permanent type atomizer.
This is the nicotine cartridge from the electronic cigarette kit.

The nicotine cartridges slip over the atomizer and come in four different levels of nicotine. High (16mg), medium (11mg), low (6mg), and none (0mg). I purchased the high as it resembles a light cigarette. They claim that every nicotine cartridge is equivalent to 20 cigarettes, but after using the system for a while I have to say they really don’t. My own experience is closer to 10 maybe 15 cigarettes per one cartridge. As the nicotine is used, the atomized smoke is lessened until no more is produced.

There are a couple different chargers to choose from, home, car, and USB. I opted for the home use charger. You simply remove the atomizer along with the nicotine cartridge and screw the battery into the charger. I was told that a battery would retain a full days use of charge…this simply is not the case. Get yourself an extra battery if you choose to try out the smoking everywhere electronic cigarette kit.
This is the atomizer installed on the battery from the smoking everywhere electronic cigarette kit.

The atomizer screws into the battery. Very simple design and easy to use. The nicotine cartridges slip over the atomizer to complete the system.
This is the complete e cigarette with all the components installed from the smoking everywhere electronic cigarette kit.

Comprised of three components, the battery which requires a daily or nightly charge, the atomizer, and the nicotine cartridges which are the only component which will need to be replaced after the nicotine has been used. If you regularly smoke a pack a day, you will more than likely go through two nicotine cartridges a day.
This is an accessory case for the smoking everywhere electronic cigarettes.

I highly recommend purchasing an accessory case for your e cigarettes. After the first day of walking around with my e cig, I went back and purchased this case. It holds two batteries, and two other slots, one for an extra nicotine cartridge, and one for your nicotine/atomizer. Without it I was paranoid that I would break my e cigarette while in my pocket.
The smoking everywhere electronic cigarette kit.

All in all I am very happy with my decision to try out an electronic cigarette alternative. While I do not believe it performs the way it was portrayed to me, I am very happy with the results. As long as my battery is charged, and the nicotine cartridge has not been depleted, I absolutely do not desire the real thing! Now that is good enough for me to make the switch. Plus, you can use the e cigarettes anywhere.
Beware though, as you “light up” in public areas normally off limits to cigarettes, you will undoubtedly be the recipient of glaring stares to outright being told “you cannot smoke here”! This usually drums up conversation though, as I explain that I am using a high tech smoking alternative. The e cigarettes look and feel that real!

Hey there! I smoke Cigana. Smoked regular cigarettes for about 12 years. I switched primarily because of the cost factor. But after smoking electronic cigarettes for a while I really like them. In fact, I write a blog about electronic smoking. Would love to share ideas and hear everyone’s thoughts about e-cigarettes.

I would like to try this. Its good to have you telling us the real deal though. I will keep this info handy if I decide to give it a try. I was thinking of trying the lozenges and patch together but this might be better. Good Luck!
I have NOT used them, but my cousin actually sells them! They definitely interest me, though. Great review!
Happy New Year!!!

I’ve never used them because this is the first time I’ve ever heard of it. It seems like a good idea, I’m wondering though if the patches wouldn’t work just as well. Years ago I tried nicotine gun and chewed so much of it that I actually think I had nicotine poisoning for a day. Good luck this is the hardest thing there is to do, trust me I know.

I have tried the nicotine patch before, and I find the e cigarettes are much better because you feel like you are actually smoking. Where as the patch left me still craving the act of smoking. After the initial purchase, the cost of the nicotine cartridges is much cheaper than actual cigarettes, so the cost is much lower. And yes, you can smoke the e cigarettes everywhere because they do not burn and there is no real smoke.
I’ve never smoked and never heard of this (it’s pretty amazing!) – but I had to drop in and say HOORAY and GOOD FOR YOU! Wishing you success in quitting in 2010!

E-cigarettes are the best way to quit smoking tobacco. They look feel and taste juste like a real cigarette they only give you vapoized nicotine which by it self is no more harmful than caffine and they satisfy the hand to mouth habit.
quality smokeless cigarettes
Smokeless cigarettes are the best thing to come along for the tobacco smokers since filters. I use to smoke tobacco and now for the first time I am tobacco free. I hope every smoker will give E-cigarettes a try, they worked for me.
I tried that brand and liked teh idea but it didnt perform well. I switched to green and prosmoke and eventually just stuck with the prosmoke. Definitely feels like a real cigarette and has just as much vapor. I would definitely recommend them as the best brand out there! I think their site is http://www.ProSmokeStore.com and NO im not affiliated with them
Julie ~ I agree with you, and plan on trying different brands of e cigarettes. I was going to start with green smoke, because of all the good reviews, but maybe I will try prosmoke. Thanks.
Hi, i just got my prosmoke 2 weeks ago and love it. I’m online looking to see what chargers are compatible with the ProSmoke because I need a spare (in a hurry) and do not have the time to order online!!
I have not tried any other e-cigs (nor am I affiliated with ProSmoke). But I am VERY pleased with the product. Do you other ProSmoke users order your cartridges from their site or are there vendors who carry ProSMoke products?
Any samples?

A lot of people are trying to keep the idea alive that electronic cigarettes are bad for you. But the truth of the matter is, that so many former smokers are able to move away from the enslavement of tobacco cigarettes, that the facts are starting to speak for themselves. The electronic cigarette is giving many smokers the ability to overcome their addiction to these cancer causing tobacco implements, by giving the “smoker” a hit of nicotine vapor, and without the toxic agents that are known carcinogens.
Thanks for all the info! I’ll check it out!!hughugs

The FDA attempts to ensure that health claims related to foods and drugs are not misleading.
As for me i think that the FDA only attempts to ensure that health claims related to foods and drugs are not misleading. So there’s nothing wrong about Electronic smokeless cigarettes

I’ve not used an electronic cigarette… Although, I’m thinking about it. You’re the second person I’ve heard about them from within a couple of weeks’ time. If it works, I’m willing to try anything.
But I have one question: What’s the point if you’re still getting the nicotine? It’s just trading one addiction for a super similar one, right?

Point is with REAL smoking your also getting the 100′s of chemicals that cause cancer
With the e cig your NOT
I have been on mine for 4 months and finally! guess what? after 14 years of smoking 2 packs a day I QUIT
It’s only a “subsidiary” thing until your ready to lay down ALL nicotine.. but it sure beats tobacco!
HoustonGurly ~ With the electronic cigarettes you are only getting the nicotine, NOT the tar, smoke, and numerous types of additives. With the different levels of nicotine cartridges you can effectively cut down until you are at 0mg of nicotine. Plus it FEELS like you are smoking, so for me it is much more effective than the patch for instance.
..and without the tar, smoke, and other additives, it also means no harmful second-hand smoke, no more ashtray’s smell, no more yellow teeth, etc… and as there is no combustion, no fire hazard..
E-cigarette is safer and healthier than tobacco cigarette and I believe by gradually reducing the strength level of nicotine, it’d even help you quit.

EXCELLENT article with great info and pics! Glad Urban Cowboy points out the difference in using the patch because i just read an article that mentioned state reps asking why the e-cig when there’s patches, etc out there…that rep HAD to be a non-smoker because there’s a big difference and you can’t very well relate the patch to the e-cig…sometimes it’s in the ‘habit’ too and not just the nicotine itself so the e-cig is often a better way for people to try to reduce smoking and eventually quit but even a better alternative for those who are not interested in quitting.
I think the biggest advantage of the e cigarette is definately that you dont bother other people with your smoke anymore. I often felt bad for “poisoning” other people with my smoke.
I wonder why the FDA is causing troubles with the e cigarette. Its a great tool for many smokers to slowly quit. Just reduce the dose nicotine once in a while until you reach zero.
Created my own small german blog about the e cigarette. Its not very popular here yet. Might be the only e smoker here in germany haha.
That E Cig set looks sweet. Thinking about getting a new one… ;D
Thanks for your article. Love your blog keep it up!
Excellent review and details of the e-cigarette! The e-cig is quickly becoming more and more popular. Have you had any issues with smoking it in or around places that don’t allow smoking? I know you said it’s a convo starter but any problems about it thusfar? …have you tried smoking it anywhere inside?
Great post and review. The e-cig is definitely becoming more and more popular, and they are a great alternative to a traditional cigarette.
