Kenny Chesney is one of my favorite artists, and I thought this song is fitting right now. Hope ya’ll enjoy!
Staring out into the wild blue yonder
So many thoughts to sit and ponder
About life and love and the lack of
And this emptiness in my heart
Too old to be wild and free
Still too young to be over the hill
Should try to grow up but who knows where to start. So I’ll just sit right here and have another beer in Mexico
Do my best to waste another day
Sit right here and have another beer in Mexico
Let the warm air melt these blues away.Sun comes up and the sun sinks down
And I’ve seen them both in this tourist town
Up for days in a rage
Just tryin’ to search my soul
For all the answers, and the reasons why
I’m at these crossroads in my life
And I really don’t know which way to go.So I’ll just sit right here and have another beer in Mexico
Do my best to waste another day
Sit right here and have another beer in Mexico
Let the warm air melt these blues away.Maybe I’ll settle down
Get married or stay single and stay free
Which road I travel is still a mystery to me.So I’ll just sit right here and have another beer in Mexico
Do my best to waste another day
Sit right here and have another beer in Mexico
Let the warm air melt these blues away.Down in Mexico…
Too old to be wild and free
Still too young to be over the hill
Have Another Beer…
…in Mexico

I’ll have a beer in Mexico with Kenny…as long as the Key’s in the Conch Shell. I have all Kenny’s CD’s except for one, his music is perfect for summertime lazy days and nights.
Hi Charon,
His music rocks…you mean you wouldn’t have a beer in Mexico with me? Even if I’m buying?
…The story of my life.
–>Having a beer in Mexico is a lot better than being “… messed up in Mexico/ Livin’ on refried dreams…” like Tim McGraw.

You got that one right WebSavvyMom!
Maybe after this you can stop by Margaritaville.
Happy weekend!
Sounds good to me!
Urban Cowboy…i must be missing out but those are great lyrics and lovely pic of you enjoying your beer
Enjoy your weekend my dear friend~
Hugs**
Space Cowgirl~
Hi Space Cowgirl,
Now, what could you possibly be missing out on? {Hugs back}
Great song…probably applies to a lot of us. Hope you find what you’re looking for, Cowboy.
Hi ya Gucci Mama,
…I’m at these crossroads in my life
And I really don’t know which way to go.
…Maybe I’ll settle down
Get married or stay single and stay free
Which road I travel is still a mystery to me.
Urban Cowboy, I love a lot Chesney’s songs, but I don’t like beer. Maybe I’ll change beer to wine or something!
Everyone needs those kick-back-do-nothing days. They help maintain our sanity I think.
Hi Talon,
You can change the beer into whatever your heart desires.
Yes, kick-back-do-nothing days are awesome!
So wait… are you telling me you are in Mexico? So am I!!!
What a coincidence.
Can I come over and watch you have a beer? I’m not allowed to drink it, but I sure do like watching people get drunk, it’s a never ending comedy show!
HEYYYY!!! That’s a great idea for a Reality Show!
Oh wait, nevermind, it’s already done on MTV. That Real World show…
anyway.
I’m kidding, I’m not really in Mexico.
Sigh.
Hey there Shelle,
Why are you not allowed to drink? Are you really a 10 year old boy?
Great lyrics. A toast to you! Enjoy your weekend and have a beer for me.
Raven!
{Holding glass up for a toast} I got you covered!
Great lyrics, great sentiment! Oh to be free…
Lots of yummy love,

Hi Alex,
Free…beer…Mexico…yummy love…what else is there?
I love, love, love that song!! Definitely a great place to be…Mexico with a nice cold beer. *sigh* Now where is that hammock?
Oh and MAYBE I will try on one of those hats just for you.
Hi ya Michelle!
And to think I thought it couldn’t get any better…it just did!
“Still too young to be over the hill”
LOL….that’s the way I feel. But, dang it sometimes my body say’s you’ve fell over the peak of the mountain!
Have a GREAT weekend!
Right on Ramona, I know exactly what you’re saying…all too well.
I’ve never heard the song, so off to YOUTUBE i go! YOU? Have a wonderful weekend!
Hope you like, Sara!
Rats! I like Kenny Chesney but I couldn’t play the video. It says that it’s been removed. guess I’ll just have to sing to myself…lol
Updated…you should be able to play now!
I love Kenny!
Right on, Blond Duck…he is one of my favorites.
Poor Kenny…He needs to get out in the garden and work up a sweat…LOL
Happy weekend sweetie!
hughugs
Hi ya Donna,
You’re too funny! {hughug}
Take me to Mexico, Cowboy. We’ll drink a lot of beer and make some questionable decisions.
A very tempting proposition, indeed…much better one than Afghanistan.
That’s what I keep trying to tell you, dearest. I’m never wrong about these things.
“Too old to be wild and free
Still too young to be over the hill.”
You are neither, Cowboy.
About the time I hit that spot where I thought this applied, I decided the first line is pure bunk. It’s kind of like how “old ” is a moving target. (Remember when 30 was old?)
Mexico these days kind of scares me though. I opt for Margaritaville.
Oh, thank you Patti…I like the idea of “old” being a moving target.
{double hand kisses} for you, my dear!
I’ve had beer in Mexico, and it’s a lot safer than the water!
Donde esta el bano?
UP
Never drink the water in Mexico! It always seemed to make me want to throw UP.
Hey Cowboy, It is really cool to watch you recovering a mighty blow. Not knowing what you are going to do is actually doing something. Take care.
Yes, TechnoBabe…”which road I travel is still a mystery to me” is so fitting for me right now, also, beer in Mexico is fun!
i’ll raise a glass with you cowboy…nice song…
Right on, Brian!
I am in Mexico! I’ll have that beer for ya!
ROAD TRIP! Be sure to raise a glass for me.
Not to worry! I had like 10 beers for ya this weekend!
I’m envious!
Cheers!
Cheers!!
There are an awful lot of people at a crossroads right now. I have no idea which direction to go. Someone blindfold me, spin me around, and we’ll trust fate…
Welcome Jen! Crossroads…many different trails to choose. Which way? I think I’ll just have another beer in Mexico….sometimes, it’s best to relax, and not rush down the first path we see.
Plus, it’s exciting to have the freedom to “do nothing” for a while.
Hope to see you here again!
You picked my All-Time Fav….Kenny Chesney! I fell in love with him years ago when he wasn’t cool. I loved how he sang wise-ole songs at such a young age. ~~~~~~~Dreamy
Cheers to you Cowboy – sounds like you are on the way back to the top!
Take care darlin
Right on Cornbread…you have very good taste in music!
Which road I’l travel is a mystery to me, too.
Kinda liberating, right?
I’ve never had a beer in Mexico, and probably never will… but that is one of my all-time fave KC songs. Great song… perfect lyrics.
Right on, Tammy!
I enjoy Kenny Chesney’s music too. You’re never too old for a new lease on life.
Yea, Rose…Kenny Chesney’s music is some of my favorite. I agree, you’re never too old.
Great song- all the comments crack me up! I guess that is a crossroads. I say relax, have a beer or two and see what comes your way!
Exactly, the key is not to try to force anything.
Cripes…am I the only one who noticed this is totally all about Bud Light? The voice is great, the message is awful. Beer has wrecked so many lives I’m close to it just saddens me to see it glorified like this.
Hi Lynn, that’s what is so awesome about songs. We each derive the message that speaks to us the most. That’s why a song can have many meanings. To me, this is a song about a man who is at a crossroads in his life. Rather than do something foolish, or attempt to force a certain path, he is relaxing…letting it come to him.
Um, I had a few beers in Montana. It’s like Mexico, starts w/ an M.
I love me some Kenny, too – his music is awesome.
Anyway – you stopped by – thank you, but no comment about the BOOTS?! I was sure you’d have something to say about them :p
Oh, you got me! I’m coming back over to commentize on the boots now.
