Tiger got Wood

December 14, 2009

Is it really so surprising that Tiger Woods, or should I say Tiger “Woody”, has been running around in what seems to be a secret life? Tigers bank account rivals most peoples fantasies, and that my friend creates a magnetic field that acts like a fly trap for some. Really though, this is really getting a little…no make that A LOT under my skin.

I could care less about Tiger Woods trysts, yet the “news” of how many women he has been involved with bombard my tiny brain until I forget what the hell I was looking for in the first place the second I turn on the TV.

You name it, Headline News, CNN, FOX News, and lets not forget about the Morning Shows, are all doing their best to keep the public well informed, because after all…this is NEWS, right?

Thank you Cori Rist, for speaking out on the Today Show! I don’t know how I could have made it through the day if you hadn’t gone on air to let everyone know that you are not a “bad person”. I feel your pain, after all, you were fully aware that Tiger was married.

He must have been so convincing, (money talks), that his true feelings were for you. Your apology towards Tiger’s wife Elin was also convincing, your tears moved me beyond belief, as I sit here with Kleenex in hand sobbing because you are obviously the victim in all this. NOT! One day you will be able to pass down stories to your children and grandchildren of your claim to fame…sleeping with a celebrity athlete. Well done!

Come on news media, give it a break, give me back the news that actually means something to me.

I’m just sayin’…

What do you think about all the hubbub surrounding Tiger Woods and his “newsworthy” affairs? Let us know!

–>I have tried my best to NOT hear about Tiger and I still hear his name every day on the radio, in the news, online, etc. He cheated on his wife with many different women which I Don’t condone but he’s not the first and isn’t the last – - Move On – - At least he didn’t murder anyone (OJ) or have young children sleep in his bed (Michael Jackson).

I didn’t care back when the “news” was just he was in a car accident. YIKES they made such a fuss about it all!!!

Do.not.care.

I stopped watching the news a few years ago because it wasn’t fit for my child’s ears. I have never gone back. I only read online news and if it has a title that seems retarded I don’t read it. I have no idea of the details of the Woods thing, all I know is he was fooling around. That in itself put him in the ‘not worth my time reading’ classification. Stop watching that trash, it’ll rot your brain.

It Seems that everyone, that lives in a “glass house”, has an opinion on Tiger’s…excesses. I also am Not interested in participating in adding to the poor family’s pain…Young and Stupid tend to go together…always has and always will. We all grow up and they will to.
I’m more interested in what our Country is going to look like in another year…Now That’s newsworthy…..hughugs

Thank you, you’ve hit the nail on the head. News isn’t news anymore it’s all sensational nonsense about nothing. I couldn’t care less about this or any other celebrities ‘news’. We could all use some newsmen like Walter Cronkite again who just report what’s happening in the country and the world and not this stupid nonsense that is contributing of the ‘dumbing down of America’ and trying to make people think this sort of garbage is news!

AMEN! Who’s sleeping with who is NOT news. That’s a need to know thing and I don’t need to know.

And, here we have one of the main reasons why I don’t watch tv, read the newspaper, or listen to the radio. As a (cheesy) friend of mine commented recently, Tiger should change his name to Cheetah. (Sorry, that’s bad, but I just had to say it). Seriously though, the only person I have any sympathy for is Tiger’s wife. It’s a shame she has to be subjected to the public circus because her husband has no integrity.

Good post and right on. This is news because of us, not because it should be news. It should just be someone’s personal embarrassment and tabloid fodder, not for the regular news day after day.

Not to make excuses for Tiger, but she was Jesper Parnavik’s nanny for years, so it’s not like you could spend that much time on the PGA tour and not have heard about Tiger.

It kinda makes me glad to be a Brit. I mean, on the one hand we get to see Jorden/Peter Andre all the time which is maddening but on the other hand we don’t see much of the Tiger Woods business, which is a relief.

It is only news because he’s a celebrity. Men all over the country do exactly what he did and it’s not news because they’re not famous. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I really believe this is a form of rebellion for him since his whole life has been choreographed since he was knee high to a grasshopper. The death of his dad, I’m sure allowed him to feel some freedom. Doesn’t make what he did right, I’m just sayin’.

I got tired of the story very quickly. Everyone is capable of falling to temptation…doesn’t make it right, but it happens…I posted on it a few weeks ago, at http://www.rednecklatte.com/2009/12/tiger-by-the-tail/

Great post on your part by the way!

Thanks,

UP

My two cents worth, news industry needs material that sells. Ever since the OJ trial, they have to pump up news to match it.
