The Holidays

December 1, 2009

Spending the holidays with someone special was just the ticket. My thanksgiving weekend was filled with good food, cold drink, tasty cigars, family stories, and good pictures, but most of all my lovely lady, Karen.

The views were spectacular.
the holidays

The house was warm.
the holidays

As we stocked up with firewood.
the holidays

Snow was on the ground…on Mt. Hood, that is.
the holidays

Stonehenge was here.
the holidays

With the moon overlooking us.
the holidays

Patch was waiting patiently.
the holidays

The rainbow trout were getting big.
the holidays

The Buffalo were grazing.
the holidays

The eagles were overhead.
the holidays
the holidays

The horses were curious.
the holidays

Really curious.
the holidays

No, really…the horses were curious.
the holidays

As the cars arrived.
the holidays

I mucked stalls.
the holidays

Makeup was applied.
the holidays

And the kitchen came alive.

What a great spot to spend any time, not just the holidays.

BTW, I couldn’t help but notice that Patch has strategically situated his food dish right under the kitchen counter in case any food happens to drop…very clever fellow.

Hey now…that first photo. I’d recognize that view ANYWHERE. The Columbia Gorge (and the bridge at Biggs) is one of my most favorite places in the world. We love to camp in the little campground at the base of this hill…pretty much right below where you must’ve been standing when you took this picture.
Glorious. Sounds like yo had a great holiday.
Love your curious horses. :)

What lovely views for Thanksgiving. Watch taking pictures of the lady with wet hair and putting on makeup. That can get you in a bit of trouble even though she looks gorgeous that way. The house looks like the perfect setting for Thanksgiving.

I didn’t see a picture of you chasing down the turkey, but I assume that was part of the weekend. Looks like downhome fun.

Looks like my kind of holiday. Enjoying the animals, a nice fire and some good food. Nothin’ fancy, just simple pleasures!
