I arrived at the Denver airport for my connecting flight to Washington after a brief 2 hour flight. Unfortunately, I had a 4 hour lay over! I smoke, so naturally I made my way outside of baggage claim, knowing that I would have to endure another security check, just to be able to get my nicotine fix. The stupid things we do, I tell ya!
After arriving outside, I was unable to find my lighter…that’s right, I packed it. Fortunately, there was a young woman puffing away at her own nicotine stick, so I approached her for help. She gladly obliged, as she understood my predicament.
By the way, I am in the process of quitting this habit…wish me luck!
Penny, it turns out was from New York, I am unable to remember the town, but she said it was a very small farming community “in the stix”. She was in Denver to visit with friends, while her husband was away working in Arizona. Turns out her husband is an Engineer, and works with the government designing aircraft systems. She was to join him later in the year, so they would be able to spend the holidays together.
It was good to hear a woman speak of her husband the way she was,…it was also disturbing, because mine no longer existed.

Good Luck on the nicotine stix. I have (almost) given mine up after puffing on them for the past 20(?) years. I will have an occasional one (maybe once a week). I hate when someone tells me I can’t have something… makes me want it even more… hey, sounds familiar huh? Anyway, Goo Luck Cowboy
Erasue – You definitely need to quit…I have only been hooked for the last couple years.
