Cowgirl Sayings

How ’bout them cowgirls
Boys ain’t they somthin’
Sure are some proud girls
And you can’t tell ‘em nothin’
And I tell you right now girls
May just be seven wonders of this big, old round world
But how ’bout them cowgirls

~Excerpt from one of my favorite songs, How Bout Them Cowgirls by George Strait.

I love cowgirls…so I thought I would put together a little list of cowgirl sayings.

Cowgirl up!

cowgirl sayings

Cowboy butts drive me nuts!

So many cowboys, so little rope!

Cowgirls do it in the saddle.

If you get in the saddle, be ready for the ride!

Boots, chaps and cowboy hats… nothin’ else matters.

If it doesn’t involve ropin’, ridin’, or saddles, count me out.

Cowboys are proof that cowgirls can take a joke.

When you count your blessings, count your horse twice.

You wish you could ride like a girl.

When in doubt, let your horse do the thinking.

“It’s the way you ride the trail that counts.”
~Dale Evans – actress and wife of movie cowboy Roy Rogers

“A horse can lend its rider the speed and strength he or she lacks, but the rider who is wise remembers it is no more than a loan.”
~Pam Brown

“If your horse says no, you either asked the wrong question, or asked the question wrong.”
~Pat Parelli

“All you need for happiness is a good gun, a good horse, and a good wife.”
~Daniel Boone

"Now remember, when things look bad and it looks like you're not gonna make it, then you gotta get mean. I mean plumb, mad-dog mean. 'Cause if you lose your head and you give up then you neither live nor win. That's just the way it is." Yippee ki-yay...

A good horse is never the wrong color.

A day spent horseback is never wasted.

At the end of the day, the job still gets done.

Thats a great George Strait song, thanks for sharing the lyrics. I found your blog while I was searching for something.

Also, since it seems relevant here. I wanted to give a plug for a site Ive been working on that helps people share songs with their friends. http://www.myradeo.com Its free, easy and there’s no account signup. Login with Facebook. Its still early days but it has some pretty cool features. Hope you like it!

Cowboy Up… Cowgirl On. Guess I was a lush, it won my heart over!

On a bumpersticker and the lady had several other cowgirl related ones on her truck – but was laughing so hard can’t remember the other ones.

~In my opinion, a horse is the animal to have. 1100 pounds of raw muscle, power, grace, and sweat between your legs – it’s something you just can’t get from a pet hamster.
~When they lay me down to rest, put my spurs and rope upon’ my chest, get my friends to carry me and lay my Horse next to me.
~honey you can have my boyfriend but stay away from my horse
these are 3 favorites

- a cowgirls idea of clean clothes is anything that DOESN’T have horse hair on it
-cowgirls think about wearing spike heels as much as they think about drinking poison
-your horse may be perfect but mines got the attitude
(i know the last 1 was about horses but i thought it was really good)

*When riding a horse, we leave our fear, troubles, and sadness behind on the ground.
– Juli Carlson
*A life without horses is like taking a breath without air.
*Ride and never worry about the fall.
*Nothing is more sacred as the bond between a horse and a rider. No other creature can ever become so emotionally close to a human as a horse. When a horse dies, the memory lives on, because an enormous part of his owner’s heart, soul, and the very existence dies also.
– Stephanie M Thorn
*Then taught her to ride
She climbed high in that saddle
Fell I don’t know how many times
Taught her a lesson that she learned
Maybe a little too well”
“Cowgirls don’t cry, Ride baby ride…”
-Brooks and Dunn
*Some people say riding ain’t a sport… i’d love to see them try.

Just a few of my favorites!<3
