Bikini Baristas and Coffee

Nothing beats a good cup of coffee…that is, unless it’s being served up by bikini baristas!

The Urban Cowboy loves his coffee in the morning. If unable to get the required dose of cafeine before venturing out, then a quick stop at one of the many drive through coffee houses is usually in order.

It seems that Tacoma, WA has a little coffee shop on just about every block. One in particular caught the eye of The Urban Cowboy….Baristas Gone Wild! Like the name suggests, hot java is served up by bikini baristas.

The Urban Cowboy seems to make friends wherever the road leads, and bikini baristas are no exception as they try to TIP The Urban Cowboy!

Not only does Baristas Gone Wild offer numerous types of coffee drinks, they also have a varied assortment of energy drinks and shakes.

If you think the menu sounds attractive, wait until you see the servers…err…baristas that is. Dressed, or maybe undressed is a better term to describe these maidens of coffee clad in skimpy bikinis.

These bikini baristas are a welcome sight to the never ending line of motorists that make regular stops at Baristas Gone Wild.

What kind of coffee or energy drinks do you enjoy? Have you been to a bikini barista, or similar establishment? Let us know what you think!

I just saw something like this on TV only I think it was in Texas. But maybe not.

What do they do when the weather gets colder? I suppose they could wear furry boots and hats… maybe even a scarf. Oh and that is not a bikini. That is a bra. And she is adorable.

Well that’s certainly one way to cater to the male client! I have coffee at home because I’m sure it is illegal for me to operate a motor vehicle before I’m properly caffeinated! ;)

I am not a coffee drinker but I do tea. The hubby though, he’s an addict. He is not allowed anywhere near an establishment like that, he doesn’t earn enough money. Between drinks and tipping he’d put us in the poor house. No lie.

Dandy is right, looks like a bra not a bikini. If only I could be that perky about morning coffee!

LOL! What a great gimmick! With all the coffeehouses around there, they had to do something different. I can’t wait to see how long it lasts.

Is it just me, or did anyone else have a picture flash through your mind of a slightly less firm woman serving up the coffee in her undies? I’m not sure I’d enjoy a coffee served to me by someone who was so scantily dressed. I’m not a prude. Really. (I have a tattoo and everything. *smirk*) Maybe I’m a product of having grown up with a nurse for a mother. It just seems so unhygenic somehow. She is cute though and has a nice tan.

Hooters is extremely degrading to women and now this. You don’t see a restaurant for women where dinner of coffee is served by males wearing a speedo.

Did you know five Washington state baristas charged customers to touch their breasts and buttocks? They were accused of prostitution.

Thanks for giving me a new blog topic.

I see where you coming from – but to be honest… I would rather have a girl walking around in her underwear than a guy in a speedo. I mean…. who wants to look at that while they’re eating? No thanks.

And about hooters… they aren’t any more degrading that high school cheerleading outfits. Plus they have the best fried pickles around – I would probably still eat them if they were served by men in speedos… umm… nevermind.

Was it the company or the women that were charging customers to touch their breasts? I guarantee that if enough women wanted to sip coffee with men serving in speedo’s, it would done.

Glad you were inspired on a topic. :)

17 Rose August 6, 2010 at 8:43 am

So you’d rather look at a woman in her underwear while eating? Well, who am I to question your sexual preference.

I think you missed the entire point of my comment. We live in a sexualized society. Bikini baristas have made it quite clear they aren’t selling just coffee. I could go on about the continued sexualization of women. But I don’t think you would get it Jessica.

Hmm… thanks for questioning my sexuality. Lol, my husband will get a kick out of it.

And I think you missed my point. The only reason it is “sexual” is because we make it that way. A woman feeling comfortable with herself, and whatever attention she enjoys is really none of our business. Just because you don’t enjoy being looked at doesn’t mean other women should have to wear turtlenecks.

Have you ever been to hooters? You see more skin at the beach… are you going to not go to the beach? Daisy duke shorts and tank tops are not not what I would consider degrading. Do women who where leotards in gymnastics degrade themselves? How about swimmers? I’ve never met a gal at hooters who looked like she didn’t want to be there.

19 Rose August 6, 2010 at 8:50 am

Cowboy, I wouldn’t want to see that either. I was being sarcastic.

I believe it was the company in one of the cases and some of the bikini baristas were not actually wearing bikinis anymore. They were wearing a lot less. (pasties and a G-string)

You are correct, we do live in a highly sexualized society. I do understand the “sexualization of women” but I also believe that women have a choice, to participate or not…seems there are many who have made their choice to be willing participants.

21 Rose August 7, 2010 at 1:07 pm

You made it sound like your sexual preference was women. Not I!

Jessica, how on earth do you know what I enjoy? My body does not define who I am. Oh and I never wear a turtle neck. :) This isn’t about women feeling comfortable with their body. There are many women who feel comfortable with their body and are attractive, however they don’t exploit themselves. By the way- Sexy leaves something to the imagination.

Cowboy, um they’ve made it there choice to participate because culture heavily promotes the sexualization of young women and girls. The women who exploit them-self this way have been influenced by culture to do so. If culture would stop sexualizing women these young girls and women wouldn’t believe you have to flaunt it to make money.

The baristas sexualize women. The men who purchase coffee there add to the sexualization. I could go on about the continued sexualization of women. Men can fight the capitalist market by not purchasing coffee there.

Thanks for letting me add to the discussion.

This is not a political, or sexual debate or discussion. EVERYONE has a choice, EVERYONE. They made the decision to work in these establishments, and I doubt they want someone telling them where they can and can not work.

Have you been to Europe? Because the States are tame compared to over there.

That is what is SO GREAT about the United States, no one is forced to work in these type of establishments. I for one will not be blamed for someone taking a job…based on the fact I have purchased coffee at such a place. That is ludicrous, and unrealistic.

This is a simple post about a bikini barista I had come across…and yes, I enjoyed it.

Please, all input is welcome, but if you wish to debate this, do so elsewhere.

23 Rose August 7, 2010 at 1:22 pm

Jessica, The women who work at baristas are not wearing daisy duke shorts and tank tops. They were wearing pasties and thongs until a new law came into place that required them to wear bikinis.

There is a huge difference between going to a beach wearing a bikini than being employee by a business where a uniform is a thong and you must be sexually attractive to get hired.

My problem with the bikini baristas is the sexualization of women.

As for Hooters a woman who was 5’8 and 132 pounds was told she’d have to loose weight if she wanted to keep her job. What kind of message does that send?

I didn’t blame you for the women taking the job. I said and I quote “The men who purchase coffee there add to the sexualization.” I’m sorry if YOU were unable to comprehend what was meant by that.

I have no desire to debate with you any more.

It is you Rose who is unable to comprehend that this is not a forum for political, or sexual debate. It is also you who is unable to comprehend that EVERYONE has a choice!

Thank you for no longer having “a desire to debate” with me.

WOW – a fav topic of mine. This is why I have two computers side by side.
I always try to remember that
“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”
Eleanor Roosevelt @1937
And this is true! I’ve worked in silk blouses, heels & suits and in … less. Either way, if I let him (or a she B*t*h) cut me down the clothing didn’t protect me. Good posture, chin up and compartmentalization skills are the path to keeping your dignity.

Let’s try never to use the word Speedo again. Please.

AND – the #1 reason that we don’t have males in (see above) serving coffee is:
Women LOOK BETTER NAKED! Let’s face it girls…we are the more attractive half of the gene pool. I can’t blame the guys one bit.
All in good fun. CityMom
