Air Show

The following pictures were taken during the air show for the Columbia Cup Hydroplane Races in Kennewick/Pasco, WA.

Here is a three shot sequence of a F-16 Falcon and a P-51 Mustang crossing paths.

1. Both the F-16 and the P-51 are single seat fighters.

2. Both the F-16 and the P-51 are single engine aircraft.

3. Did you know Fords Mustang was named after the P-51 Mustang?

Check out how close they are here!

Not too bad a shot considering I only have a 18-55 lens that came with the camera. This jet flew so fast, you didn’t even hear it until it passed you!

Those P-51 Mustangs are something else!

A couple more shots of the F-16 and the P-51 Mustang flying together.

There you have it, just a couple shots I was able to capture of the air show during the Hydroplane races.

Has anybody else been to an air show? Let us know about it!

My STBX is in the military so I/we have been to several. We mostly lived on post so we normally just saw everything from the luxury of our own back yard, didn’t have to fight the crowds or the traffic. I LOVE the sounds of jet flying over. I guess I’m as patriotic as they come as often I catch myself tearing up just hearing them roar overhead… it’s simply an amazing sight and sound..

Yes, my father is retired Air Force, and I have contracted to the military…so I know what you mean Erasue.

But you being “over-there”…. well… it’s a different feeling when you heard them I guess than when you hear them over here.

I’ve never been to an air show. Maybe someday if I get the chance. I’ve seen some of the Blue Angels(is that their name?) on TV and they are amazing flying in unison. The shots you took are great, looks like they were mighty close to one another. Glad I wasn’t in one of them.

Ben’s been dying to go to an air show. Lackland isn’t having one until November, though.

I wanted to go scuba diving or snorkeling, but I’ve never had scuba classes. We were going to go parasailing, but my sister-in-law (yellow bikini) would only go at 1200 feet and I couldn’t go that high! She went, I stayed in the boat!

Excellent shots! I have some good ones from last year. We saw the Blue Angels 3 times. Amazing. Simply amazing.

Air Force brat here! Love to watch those guys fly. We used to watch them practice their manuvers on base as kids. It was an awesome sight and when they broke the sound barrier, my god it was incredible. Course, they werent supposed to do that but who cares. Lol
